Around The House...

We've been staying busy...the pups got a hair cut today! They never look like the same dogs when I pick them up!

My handsome Gizmo...I just adore this pup!

And Phoebe (below)...the dumbest dog of all time. Polly got a haircut too but she runs from the camera.

Madeline and I have been whipping up some gourmet meals! :) We made these cupcakes and she did the decorating. She took it really seriously...I was proud of her!

Saturday was a tough day in the kitchen for me! haha I burnt the boiled eggs that we were supposed to dye and then I burnt Terry and Madeline's fancy corn dog lunch! I am still learning my appliances, and I get easily distracted. My oven cooks really fast - like crazy fast. Hopefully I'll have it down by Thanksgiving!

I did make this masterpiece on the grill last night. Asparagus is whats in the foil...those shrimp were amazing!

And the latest pool progress. Terry and I have decided that a pool could probably be done in a week if they would come and work every day. *sigh* We know the construction industry all to well to expect something crazy like working all day!

They came early Saturday to do the concrete and they're supposed to come today or tomorrow to do the plaster which makes it smooth.

They put the pool a little closer to the house than we originally wanted but they did do exactly how it was on paper. We just didn't realize it would be quite that close...but at the end of the day, it's a pool and we're stoked!

Madeline said take a picture of me posing...oh man, that girl!

This pose cracks me up! She is always doing some kind of crazy pose or trick.

And her favorite thing to do right now is play of the dirt mountain in our backyard. She LOVES dirt!

That's pretty much life over the past week!

Easter

Easter was jam packed but so much fun!!!

We started bright and early with Easter baskets. I bought very little candy for Madeline, and honestly I just put leftover eggs I sent to her school in her basket because oh my goodness at the candy this year. She probably has more than she did at Halloween and we still have one more egg hunt today. Anyway, so she got some new sunglasses, a bathing suit, and a couple of shirts I couldn't resist at the Gap outlet!

The Easter bunny brought Terry a little something too but forgot his basket! :)

We went to a new church Sunday which was a little awkward since it was Easter but we still haven't found a church. We really liked the church we visited Sunday so we're going to go back next week. It's a lot bigger than our last church so it's a little intimidating but the people were so friendly, the worship music was awesome, and the preaching was good too. Well, what I could hear of the preaching - a certain 4 year old wasn't on her best behavior. Next Sunday she'll be going to children's church for sure.

Anyway, I snapped a couple of pictures as soon as we got home. Terry skipped pictures because he started coughing up a lung as soon as we got in the car and didn't stop til we got home. He's been to the dr 3 times over the past 3 weeks, and they finally sent him to the ER on Friday and he has pneumonia! Poor guy!

I got Madeline's dress from Old Navy, and she looked so sweet! She took her bow out about 5 minutes after we got to church!

Selfie with mom!

After church we went to Terry's aunt Michele's house. Michele has totally taken Madeline in as one of her own granddaughters, and Madeline adores her! She had an Easter basket waiting on her when she got there with a bracelet to match all the cousins!

I spent my day stealing this baby from his momma! I steal him every chance I get - he's 4 months old and I could eat him up! He was fascinated by looking at himself!

Madeline kept carrying this bunny around, and I kept getting on to her because I didn't want her to break it. Of course, I picked it up to put it back and the head came off! I almost died...I fixed him though!

Family picture time...

Left to right - Terry's Uncle Stan, Aunt Marsha, Aunt Michele, his dad, and his grandpa

Terry's Grandpa and his wife, Margaret

Photo bomber - Madeline and Mya - let me tell you these two are crazy. Hugging one minute and duking it out the next! Guess that's what cousins are for!

Sweet girls!

This was Madeline's reaction when I told her it was time to go...she was so sad!  She was covered in dirt...signs of a good time!

And about 5 minutes in the car!
So thankful for family, and our Risen Savior!

This and That...

Random post on life lately...

"Ain't Nat", Terry's sister came to visit a couple of weeks ago. Madeline adores her and Natalie plays pretty much any game Madeline wants her to. They're so cute together!

Things at work are changing for me a little. I LOVE my job so I am a little nervous about things changing. I'll be in what they call the "float pool" meaning they'll train me to work anywhere in the hospital. I'm trying to be really positive about it...but if it doesn't work out, I already found my dream job.

My mom stayed with us for a couple of weeks and one day we drove halfway to meet my dad to drop her off. Madeline fell asleep like this for about two hours. Such a little lady! And, yes, she's holding the dog's leashes. All she talked about was taking them for a walk when we got home.

One night while Morgan was here we had a play-doh contest and Madeline was the judge. Of course, Terry tried to show off and make a sword fish and you can bet mine was the fancy goldfish. Morgan won, and then Madeline said I won and Terry won too. Madeline's not exactly a great judge! :)

I've seen some sad stuff this week at work so last night I got Madeline up when I got home and we read books and played on the floor with the pups. I am trying to remember how sacred these years are, and that one day she won't wear gloves to bed, and squeeze my neck with all her might and kiss me on the lips. She won't always pray for Disney characters and dance around the living room like a "real ballerina". I could eat her up with a spoon!

Finally, it's Good Friday. The day Jesus died on the cross. If I've ever reached a point in my life, where I realize how much I need Jesus, it's now. When I can't wrap my mind around the pain in this world, Jesus meets me where I am. He loved me enough to die on the cross, and I know that thanks to His sacrifice, there will be a day when there will be no pain. Thank the Lord for a risen Savior and the Hope that really does anchor the soul!

Happy Easter weekend!

Backyard Business

We knew when we built this house that we really wanted a nice outdoor space. We knew we wanted a pool, and it just so happened that the logistics worked out for it. They came today and started digging, and hopefully in 4 more weeks, we'll be swimming!!!

They came early and sprayed it out and then started digging!

Madeline had to watch to make sure they were doing it right! :)

\

It'll be 5 feet deep at the deepest point with a tanning ledge on one side and the stairs and a bench on the other. Diving boards and slides are a no go with homeowners insurance which is a real bummer! But we did get "free" LED lights that change colors so I am pretty pumped about that! I know I'm a loser...I can't help it! I can't wait to see it all done!!!

Weekend Update

We've had such a good weekend! Saturday we spent most of the day shopping for a lawn mower and a grill. Thanks to the robbery we had to replace them :( We decided to get a riding mower and I can't lie...I adore these two on it!

Thankfully, most of our grass survived the cold winter and we planted a couple of trees that look like they're gonna make it too!

We had Terry's dad and aunt over for dinner Saturday night and it was so nice. It was a little cold this weekend but absolutely beautiful weather. We've been trying to spend as much time as possible outside before it gets too hot! Madeline thinks she's a pro on her scooter!

Terry's uncle is the fire chief here so Madeline got to go to an Easter egg hunt at the fire department this afternoon. She was so funny...she'd spot one egg and run past about a dozen just to get to the one she spotted. She was pretty smart though and broke off from the group. She got so much candy and she got to make a bunny cake! She had a blast...my big girl!
